Dear Parents,
As you certainly know, kids just say what's on their mind.
Here are some sentences that I heard through the year and want to share with you.
“Mrs. Padovan, my daddy has a Superman butt!”
“Mrs. Padovan, you don’t have a mommy, only kids have mommies.”
“My Daddy and my Mommy are married and they kissed, but I’m not married.”
“My daddy’s job is to go to work.”
“My mommy’s name is mommy!”
“Mrs. Padovan, I want to be a big Mommy when I grow up.”
“My back has a headache.”
"Mrs. Padovan, when I go to the bathroom, my friend keeps looking at my private parts and this is supposed to be a private school!”
“When I grow up, I want be a rock star. Because girls go crazy for rock stars.”
“My Mommy drives crazy.”

Poem
It's Grandparents' Day and we're here to say,
"We love our Grandparents in a major way."
So sit right down and take a seat,
And we'll put on a show that can't be beat!
Some Grandparents are skinny. Some eat a lot.
Some are funny. Some are not.
Some short, some tall, some big, some small.
It doesn't matter. We love them all.

JKB Language Arts
We have been working on our Journals everyday.
It's very exciting to see the progress of your child.
Little by little they put the letters together and try to make the sound of the word. Most of the time (at this stage) they can't spell the word exactly, but they are certainly on the right track when they sound out letter by letter.
Enjoy some of their work:

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Motherhood is a tough 24 hour job. There is no pay, and no day off. Sometimes motherhood is unappreciated, but yet resignation is impossible. Even though motherhood is a full time job, a mother's work is never done. A mother is a woman who was created by God to bring love, joy, happiness and caring into his world.
Happy Mother's Day.
Happy Mother's Day.
Uniform
We still have 5 more weeks of school.
Please make sure your child comes in proper St. Jude's uniform.

FYI
Dear Parents,
Please do not be alarmed if your child went home on Monday talking about head lice.
We had an isolated case in our school and it has been treated already.
As we are studying bugs for science I thought this incident was a very good opportunity to lecture to the students.

New Theme
Dear Parents,
This term we are going to start a new theme called “Bug’s Life”.
Children generally love bugs and we are excited to learn about them. We will be using real bugs for some of the experiments, but only if the bugs are harmless.
Students are going to be challenged to discover things on their own. Discovering will certainly give them a wonderful feeling of success.
All they need is friendly guidance, a few good ideas and their natural curiosity.
We will be doing a lot of hands on experiments and while playing, your child will find out the answer to questions such as “Do bugs have teeth?” or “How high can bugs jump?”
Please send in a small or medium size glass jar by Monday, April 5th.
Thank you for your help,
Mrs. Padovan
